I went to Lyon University in Villeurbane, atending a conference. The best thing was proximity from the Campus. At night after last presentation we could go to Lyon Downtown taking the T1 train passing every time along the campus. We spent two nights here in July 08 using our Holiday Inn Priority Club points. The hotel is in Villeurbane, in the northeast part of Lyon, near La Doua University. We had a delightful stay at this hotel. Everything went smoothly from check in to check out. The room was fairly large and quite clean. The greatest thing to watch out for here is the taxi charges from the airport to the hotel or vice versa. On a Sunday evening the fare for the 25-30 min ride was 65Euros! Stayed here for 2 nights. Room was clean and staff was nice. It is not close to downtown but was easy to get there by tram/subway. Very close to the University which is why we chose this location.
