Decided to try this place on a "spur of the moment" type thing....wasn't disappointed. Staff very friendly and very welcoming. Food was good and cheap. I heard while I was there that the owners are quite new and they had had a few hiccups. I'm sure with their courteous manner and positive attitude that The Stag will be getting many... More

Checked Valentine menu online for an enjoyable evening with partner and friends for what we thought would be an enjoyable romantic evening, unfortunately on arrival the staff were about as lively as a dead horse in a one-legged race. The bar manager had about as much idea of hospitality as a shop manakin. The furniture looked like it had been... More

as soon as i entered the place i could smell the toilets.........sat in chairs where the fake leather has peeled of the armrests and they were dirty. Waited for ages for basic non de-script food. Went to complain and saw a staff member eating chips in the kitchen of a customers plate as he carried it out. Awful place what... More

Booked a table for 4 for Lunch today, 1 November. Arrived to find a note on the door 'due to unforeseen circumstances, The Stag will not open today'. This note has apparently been on for a few days, local gossip has it that they will not re-open in the near future, but they are still advertising Christmas Bookings!

On arrival we noticed an advert for Head Chef and Chef de Partie we should have been warned. Ignored on trying to book in. No butter on sandwiches for lunch although staff attentive. Room ok except cobwebs on the bathroom skirting boards. Evening meal atrocious seemingly microwaved and fish cremated. Breakfast two burned and very hard croissants offered and sent... More

Had Sunday lunch here. Very good menu. Lots of choice for vegetarians. Very efficient staff nice outdoor setting and good decor inside. Recommended. It's a bit more expensive than most pubs but the quality of the food here justifies the higher prices and there is even a helicopter landing pad if you want to fly in!

We stayed at The Stag for one night. Room was dated but clean. We decided to eat at the hotel as we had been travelling all day. We had to wait nearly an hour for our main course, when it arrived it was a disappointment. I had gammon, eggs and chips. Gammon very dry, eggs very greasy. We ordered waffles... More

We stayed at The Stag to go to Ragley Hall for the Battle Proms concert, we'd already booked a room a while ago and then needed to add an extra room at short notice, we rang and got the Suite for the same price as a standard double, the suite was nice and for £95 for the night was still... More
