This was our second visit to Bakewell and Normanhurst and it is still wonderful. The property is still very well maintained and the breakfast is still freshly prepared and very good with a nice variety. John and Sue are most helpful in suggestions for things to do. Knowing that we were planning on renting bikes and biking what we had... More

A lovely warm welcome from John and Sue with tea and cake. Our room was beautiful and spotless. Breakfasts were delicious and just what was needed before some superb walking in the area. Bus stop near door takes you to start of Monsal Trail at Blackwell; walk this fantastic trail to Bakewell and back to the B&B. Close to Chatsworth... More

The house and rooms are beautiful, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. John and Sue are very personable, friendly and a great source of information. The location is great - both Bakewell and Ashford are walkable in 10-20 minutes. The breakfast was excellent. Impossible to fault.

I booked a 3 night stay at this B&B based on the reviews here and I was not disappointed. John & Sue are by far the friendliest people I have met who run a B&B. Well B&B is not really doing it justice...it felt like I was a long lost niece who had come to stay with an Auntie &... More

At the beginning of July we stayed in this first class B&B for a week. This was our third time we stayed here, which speaks for it self. As before we enjoyed our stay very much. We stayed in room 2 with great views over the fields. The room and the ensuite, which will be cleaned every day, are immaculate.... More

My friend and I stayed for two nights over the weekend at this fantastic B&B. John and Sue Hooper are great hosts, really friendly, nice people who should be very proud of their wonderful B&B. We were made to feel really welcome to this lovely house which has high ceilings and is very tastefully and comfortably furnished. The garden, which... More

Stayed two nights over the May Day bank holiday. We received a very warm welcome from John and Sue, and taken to our room (no.2) where we immediately felt relaxed and able to unwind after our three and a half hour journey as we enjoyed tea and cake. The room was spotless, and the bathroom large and we spent a... More
