Just returned from a lovely weekend at The Old Hay Barn. I agree with most of the posts on here...attentive hosts, a tasty breakfast, beautiful scenery and lovely accomadation. I only really wanted to post on here because of an earlier comment about curtains being used to shield the bathroom. We were staying in the mentioned room and I thought... More

We first stayed at the Old Hay Barn a few years ago and now return every summer. We really look forward to our holiday there. The scenery is magnificent with local walks through the Dales and the recently opened railway tunnels. We are always made very welcome. The accommodation is very spacious, well equipped and clean. The full English breakfast... More

I wont repeat all the other positives of the other reviews but this this little B&B is beautiful! Sitting in the back garden of the barn is so tranquil & serene overlooking a beautiful lake. You really do feel a million miles away here, perfect for a weekend of relaxing! Breakfast of good quality & hosts very attentive! The only... More

Just back today from a wonderful 2 day stay...For the modest price this truly is superb accommodation - the pictures really don't accurately portray just how stunning the location is and the standard of interior is equally high. The host was friendly and helpful without being intrusive and having booked both rooms it felt much more like an apartment than... More

We have just returned from a weekend at the Old Hay Barn and can highly recommend it. Iain was a very welcoming host who was happy to share his knowledge of the area and helped to make our stay in Derbyshire as full and active as possible. The suite of rooms was charming and had the most comfortable bed we... More

We stayed at the Old Hay Barn for two nights and found it a very relaxing experience. Very friendly owner, Iain, excellent facilities and good for visiting Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. The instructions for finding the barn were excellent and there were lots of leaflets and other information available to help us to decide what to do in such a... More

I don't have much to add to the other positive reviews. We enjoyed our three days in this wonderfully refurbished stone barn with extremely helpful hosts. Our bedroom was a bit small, but we had the separate "living room" which was absolutely wonderful. (I don't know how large the other bedroom is but it doesn't have the separate living room.)... More

We spent two nights at the old hay barn, very nice B@B. Very nice room, excellant view from bedroom window, lovely garden again with stunning view. Only one conmment on the accommodation, the bedroom is not en-suite there is a bathroom nextdoor and is screened off by curtains, from entrance hall. It would be far better to put in a connecting door....Maybe... More

The one critical point raised on this review has caused slight confusion regarding the room layout which I would like to clarify. 1. This room is located on the ground floor in the opposite end of the house to the other B&B room. They are a long distance apart separated by a large hall. There are no other bedrooms on... More

Stunning views over the river, was made to feel very welcome, Had a slight problem finding the entrance, as you pass the parked cars on the right, the entrance is on the left within ten foot! At night it can be missed , we did.
