An impecably clean, warm room with a great shower and a big, oh so comfortable double bed. Peak district scenery with fantastic walks only minutes away. One of the best B&Bs we have stayed in - everything was of the highest quality. Wonderful weekend break my wife said best nights sleep for ages . Hotel was friendly and most welcoming ,room was spotless and themed with wonderful triple aspect views over and beyond Matlock . Kate and Alan have got it exactly right ( and I am picky!). Great hosts, rooms clean and attention to detail was excellent. The breakfasts offer a fantastic choice and all well prepared.If you have a dog then go for The Warren which gives you private access to the garden from a back door. We've just spent a lovely weekend at the Sheriff Lodge. Kate and Alan are great hosts and we loved relaxing in the drawing room. We ate locally both nights which Kate booked for us and both did great food. Our room was lovely, spacious and comfy and lots of nice finishing touches.
