We stayed here one night. Great Location on a quiet street just above the castle and short walk down to the marina. Staff was helpful and friendly with directions and recommendations. Our room was large, quiet and dark with one window. Beds were "average European mattresses". Firm, coiled mattresses (no pillowtops here). Pillows and linens were average comfort. Breakfast was... Set on a quiet hill just behind the centre of town, Friar's Lodge is excellent value. Huge rooms, great breakfasts (Bailey's with the porridge) and a wonderful Irish welcome from Maureen Tierney and her team. I've already... More

This establishment exceeded all my expectations. Friendly & helpfull staff, fantastic room, wonderful breakfast, in fact everything you would expect of a much larger hotel plus the benefit of having the owner visable to ensure everyone is satisfied with every aspect of their stay in the wonderful town of Kinsale. The B&B was very strange. Not really authentic at all it was almost like staying in a clarion type hotel in the US. There is no wifi outside the reception area which was locked at 9pm without being told(in ireland all shops close at 6:30pm and unless your eating or out drinking there is not much to do). The lady... More

We stayed in one of the Holiday Homes located just behind the hotel, and I was very pleasantly surprised when we checked in. I was trying to rent two rooms (a double and a triple) but since that was not available, they recommended we rent a holiday home. For a VERY reasonable price, I walked up the stairs onto a... More
