We were really impressed with this campsite (we camped in a small tent). The owner Chris was extremely helpful and welcoming, the shower was very clean, and the free wifi and complimentary tea were a lovely touch! The site has an ideal location near the sandy beach and nearby Omey Island was a very pleasant walk. The free naturally sourced... More

On arrival after a long 4 hour journey, through driving wind and rain, we were greeted by Chris and his wife Tatjana with the warmest of welcomes. With over a decade of camping in Ireland behind us, my family and I were in awe of the scenery that was all around us. Looking west, we could see Omey Island a... More

As others have mentioned, this site is a real gem. Chris and his family were so welcoming and the location is truly magniifcent. We were blessed with some April sunshine and the white sand and turquoise sea looked stunning. We fished in the stream (unsuccessful but had fun) and walked to omey island. This was a great walk to do... More

Just back from a weekend camping with my wife and 3 young children. While the weather let us down, the campsite was everything I was looking for. Chris and Tatjana, were so welcoming and friendly, the location is amazing, with an incredible beach. The facilities were spotless and the pitches were so natural. As I said, it did rain, but... We arrived at Actons having toured the west coast of Ireland and were immediately welcomed by Kris the owner who we found to be a fine host. The site is in an amazing location on a headland jutting out into the sea with some fine fishing spots and beautiful white sandy beaches. Don't expect marked out pitches this site is the... More

This site is not for those who like pitches with white numbers, tokens for showers and security booms on entry. For us it was one of the best campsites we have ever stayed on, located perfectly on a spit of land between a fishing channel and dazzling white beaches. Chris, the owner, was generous-spirited and trusting- we had been there... More

Stayed here with my wife and dog as campers-beautiful spot away from the hum drum of city life. On site is a beautiful white sand turquoise water beach which is private, lovely views across the bay to Omey island which also makes for a great walk. Would certainly return here again. Close by is the town of Clifden which offers... More

Not long home after what must be one of the most enjoyable mini breaks we've had in a long time. Acton's Eco -beach campsite delivered once again! We arrived on Wed 3rd April to some great Spring sunshine ( at last! ) and even greater welcome from Kris and his family and spent the next few days enjoying all this... More

We camped here as a family (2 adults, 3 children) in May 2012. I've mixed feelings about this campsite! On the plus side, the location is stunning - right on the coast, access to its own gorgeous beach, feels very safe for the kids, beautiful scenery, fab natural layout of pitches. BUT only 1 shower (with erratic temperature controls), 2... More
