The hotel is in an older building on the main street in Briancon. It is not a long walk to the old town where there are restaurants. The rooms are bland but large and the bathroom is small and a bit old. Breakfast is alright. There is some noise at night from people on the street but nothing too bad... More

Hotel Edelweiss is a classic alpine hotel of yesterday. Found the hotel by chance. On the hill up to the old town. Plenty places to park. Very polite staff and friendly. Rooms large with balcony. Free Wi fi. Did not take the breakfast option. Would stay again.Good value

We were looking for a good hotel on the GR5 route through Briancon and this one was just right for us. A nice welcome, lovely and clean with nicely decorated reception rooms and a good quality breakfast. It was easy to walk back up the hill a few 100 meters to the old town.

Just down the hill from the walled town, the Edelweiss is well located and there is the bonus of (some) free parking. Rooms fine and decent size, with en-suite bathroom. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Good value too.

Clean and spacious rooms, ok for the standard and for staying one night. The service was good. A little bit noisy i.e. You can easily hear what is spoken in corridor. We stayed there just for one night in August 2011. Position is excellent: five minutes walk from the city center (though quite steep from the hotel to the city center). The rooms are simple and clean. Hotel staff is friendly. There is limited parking space but free parking nearby. Excellent value for money.
