The black swan is sort of in the middle of nowhere and it isn’t budget accommodation. But that’s not why anyone goes there. My wife and I stayed on a Saturday night in June and were blessed with lovely weather as well. Accommodation on site comprises of 4 bedrooms in a converted stable block or similar. The room we had... We took an hour and a half to drive from The Dales to The Black Swan for Sunday Lunch. The journey was well worthwhile. Essentially a pub on the ground floor, but with a restaurant comprising two rooms on the first floor. The barman was welcoming and helpful,my aperitif was an excellent pint of Black Sheep and not having the brand... More

We have just spent a very enjoyable two day stay at the Black Swan to celebrate my birthday. In a very rural setting, you are guaranteed no passing traffic noise in the middle of the night - it is so off the beaten track it is one of those locations where a good hotel should not be, but all the... The location is idyllic, the staff are friendly and the food is incredible! Can't wait to go back with friends! Very clean and nothing was too much for the girl who serves us. Met with the owner James Banks and he was a gentleman! Thanks for a lovely day and evening

We stayed overnight with my brother and his wife and decided to go for the taster menu. From the moment we arrived in the bar the service was excellent. Following a perusal of the menu, we were given the opportunity to change any of the courses we did not fancy. One course was adjusted with ease and the meal proceeded... More

Today was our second visit to the Black Swan, and again it was amazing! For a Michelin starred restaurant, the lunch deal is an excellent price - £25 for three courses......and whilst we went with very good intentions of sticking to that menu...we were swayed by the equally inviting a la carte menu and spent a fortune instead!! My partner... More

The stable block at The Black Swan has been converted to provide just four very comfortable bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Ours had a double-ended tub big enough for two as well as a rain shower. The star attraction though is the Michelin-starred restaurant. We started with a tuna tartare with wasabi mayonnaise and wood pigeon with pickled vegetables followed by... More

Stayed for one night for our anniversary. Really comfy bed. Loved the tasting menu and wine package. Staff friendly and not stuffy as some can be in Michelin starred restaurants. Very relaxing and the downstairs bar is lovely. Breakfast was excellent too.
