We have stayed at several guest houses/ hotels in the area and have not stayed any where better than Burton Lodge. The new owners Ian & Emma have made us feel more than welcome, the gardens are great and kept our children entertained for hours. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable. All in all cant fault the place.

The lodge is conveniently located, the rooms are very comfortable, the service is the most friendly, the breakfast is really great and prices are reasonable. What else can you look for? Maybe places to visit around the hotel? There are plenty, including a very nice village and an historic church... I can only recommend you stay there if you're in... More

We stayed on 19 and 20 March 2013 during a cold spell. The welcome was warm and the room was warm, comfortable and well-equipped and clean. The twin beds were fine and there was plenty of hot water. We enjoyed the freshly prepared cooked breakfast in the dining room with great views over the grounds. The cereal and fruit buffet... More

We stayed in the upstairs suite of the anex part of the hotel, it was fantastic that dogs are welcome at no extra cost and a travel cot and high chair provided for our baby daughter was very handy. Great choice for breakfast, cook breakfast was very nice. The room was very comfortable, could do with some updating to the... More

We stayed here for one night using a Groupon voucher. As we were visiting friends in the area we didn't spend much time in the hotel but for what we paid were very satisfied. The outside and reception area both need attention but the hall, landing and our room were clean and looked newly renovated. Perhaps standards have improved since... More

Located in a pleasant location next to golf course and a short walk from the village. This is a reasonably large house don't understand where the word lodge comes from. I also can't fathom how it can be described as a hotel, yes it has a small lounge and bar but not proper hotel style. Agree with previous reviews the... More
