We stayed at Margarita y Eds Cabanas for one night during our stay at Palenque. It does help if you speak Spanish here, and we did not find a possibility to make a reservation trough a website or e-mail. We called three days in advance to book a room. Margarita y Eds Cabanas are the best cabanas at El Panchan... More

We stayed at chato's cabanas for a couple of days as a base to explore the ruins and nearby waterfalls. The jungle setting, 'hippie' ambience, and good bars, restaurants and live music made for a relaxed setting and the kids enjoyed running out to see the howler monkeys around the place. However, with all of this going for it, it... More

Stayed at El Jaguar a couple of nights on the way south, and again on the way north. I like the place. It's rustic, but the dorm bed was comfortable and the shower had hot water. There was a fan in the room. It was nice to be in the jungle and only a short distance from Palenque (I walked... More

The hole place has a relaxed hippie vibe. We stayed in a group of huts called Monoblanco. Its a is surreal site literally in the middle of the jungle, just outside of Palenque's ruins. Very basic huts, shared bathrooms and showers, a liitle restaurant and night live music... perfect low budget place for young backpack travelers. The people is warm... More

We stayed in El Panchan for a few days at Jungle Palace. We had a beautiful, simple cabana with a little porch overlooking a creek. It's a priceless way to feel the life of the jungle, and it's right by the entrance of the National Park that leads to the ruins. It was only 150 pesos for your own cabin... More

located quite close to the ruins, staying here was an amazing experience. the people are friendly, although you can't expect the best service. however it's far from the town-center which means you've limited options for food, and getting there from the town at night always requires a cab. wish they had wifi and cleaner rooms.

We stayed at Margarita and Ed's for 3 nights while visiting the ruins and other sites in Palenque. We were in the Turquesa room - double. It was in the building located the furthest from the entrance which made it very secluded. There was a beautiful, well-lit walkway to the rooms. There were four rooms on the bottom floor and... More

a place for hippies mostly, anyone in a normal road trip would feel as an outsider. I was expecting a real jungle but it's a very chaotic touristic camping, the only resto there "don muchos" is so bad. apart than Margarita's and ed cabanas, there is no good camping. one night is more than enough here, and anyway to visit... cabanas are in terrible condition. Yes, it is a budget stay but you cannot even imagine how budget is!!!. Sleeping? It's hard. People cry aloud and the staff cares nothing for that notwithstanding our complaints. I've traveled a lot for many and many years but this is the worst accomodation found ......

We stayed in the jungle in El Panchan - Margarita & Ed for couple of days while we were visiting Palenque ruins. We had a twin bed, private cabin, which was comfortable. All windows are bug-screened. The thatched rooms are lifted, but the gap is closed with the bug-screen as well. The cabin was split into two private rooms, and... More
