This place has its plusses and minuses. It is within walking distance of the ruins at Palenque, the rooms are fairly large, there is a pool, the bartender makes great drinks, and you may hear/see wildlife during your stay. On the other hand, the food was expensive and blah, the pool needed cleaning and was too warm, and the door... More

Being the closest hotel to the Palenque ruins, you can walk home at the end of the day of exploring. The pool is very refreshing in the heat, but could use a thorough cleaning. We stayed in an economy room, which was great, but the bathrooms are like your average campground... no toilet seats, no toilet paper, useless shower curtains,... More

i have to say i stayed in the huts in my own hammock, i don't know how are the rooms, it is very quiet place, and it's up by the road close to the palenque museum. it has a pool which i didn't use, has quite reasonably priced restaurant and bar with live music, but not loud. communal bathrooms are... Situated near the national park and ruins the location is fantastic if you are looking for a bit of a retreat. Travelled with one other friend so was a little too quiet for us so we moved after just one night. Rooms are very basic and the pool isn't the cleanest but all in all a nice place.

The only good thing about this place is that you are close to Palenque ruins, just 5 minutes walk from main entrance! I stayed in a basic cabanas with ceiling fan inside for fair price, but my blankets was not clean so I sleept in my bag. Toilets was soooo dirty, thay need to renovate that ASAP. The most terible... We were very dissapointed of this place. After reading the recomandation in lonly planet we decided to stay there, The setting of this place was very nice, but sadly our room smelt awfull!!! The food was average and the stuff unbelievably unfriendly!! We would not recommand anybody to go there. Specially as there are loads of other places along the... More

We spent 3 nights at Maya Bell in one of their room equiped with fan. The location - right in the middle of the jungle - is perfect to visit the ruins as you're 5 minutes away from them. It can be tricky in the evening if you fancy going out though, as it's quite far away from the city... More

This is the fifth stay here in the last three years, and we come from Canada. We will be returning again in March on our way back home. We come for the location and for the sounds of the jungle, including very close encounters with the howler monkeys on every visit. The monkeys even like to tease our dog who... More

Spend some days at Mayabell around "the magic 21- 12 - 2012". Been visiting Mayabell a couple of time during the last 15 years. It always been a great place to be hanging out and very close to Palenque ruin. Its still a relaxed place and the natur around Maybell is the same more or less. But the way the... More

We stayed here for one night on a recommendation. Our room was large and comfortable with two double beds. The fan did not work and the bathroom was not too clean. The pool was fab, good cocktails and the self service dinner was good value. The restaurant is in a lovely spot but we expected better standards from our room.... More
