I've stayed here 3 times now (first time was back in 2006 when it was refurbished) and most recently in November 2011.
The hotel is really central and you can walk to the CBD easily, Opera House is a 15-20 minute walk, Oxford St is really close by and it's easy enough to get a bus to Bondi etc.

If you want to stay in the center of town this hotel is a very good option. All facilities available including a swimming pool. Efficient staff. Everything is on walking distance. Rooms are clean and big. If you book in advance (f.e. by Agoda) you can get a great discount as well as an upgrade.

Overall this hotel was adequate for our needs, as the location was good, the room was basic but nice, the facilities were adequate (besides the pool which was very cloudy/murky),

Popped up to Sydney to see two exhibitions last week. Didn't want to stay in the middle of the city but Vibe on Goulburn Street is a great little hotel 5 minutes from the Museum train station (which runs to the airport), and walking distance to China Town, Paddy's, the Powerhouse Museum, World Square, the Art Gallery, and the city....
