The hotel's location is not very safe. When we reached the hotel, we saw a sign instructing us what to do if we were mugged at Kings Cross. All the staff were very accomodating and friendly. Bus stop was right outside the hotel door, and it took 8 minutes to get to Sydney City, It was a 5 minute walk to Kings Cross Railway Station. Stayed at the Devere Hotel for 5 nights in March and found it perfect in every way. we got upgraded to a family room which was good. very little if no street noise. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Don't be put off by Kings Cross which is a 5 minute walk away. more

There was a "window"-opening to a dark hole with lots of pigeon crap. Somewhat of a bomb shelter arrangement, apart from the fact that it was quite peaceful and sunny in Sydney during our stay. Basically, never again and do not get fooled with the pics, there is at least one extremely crappy room that you might end up in. more

We spent four nights here while in Sydney and found the accomodations acceptable. Everything was neat and clean and as advertised. The shower head was broken but was fixed promptly. The mini kitchen was good although it would have been nice to have a table to eat at instead of stools with no really good counter. more
