Since the minute we walked in, this hostel looked and felt good. At first the girls at reception were really friendly and helpfull. First days we were with friends in one 4 bedroom dorm, after that I was the only one that was left. The hostel was fully booked every night and I had different roomies, all nice and tolerant.... Spent only three nights here at Dingo Moon, had a great time though, we will definitely return on our way out of Australia. Above average in most areas. Brekky was awesome, staff friendly and great chill out area next to the pool. Our air conditioning was a little bit noisy, but we still managed to both get good nights sleeps... More

We travel alot and here not only do you get a first rate breakfast but also free laundry! The pool is an extra benefit as well. We appreciated the helpful staff who were very friendly, gave good advise, and were very accomodating. I think the negative reviews are people who probably have some particular gripe and want to strike back... More

The manager is a horrible horrible man! He has the worst attitude I've ever come across and he does not look after his staff at all. I saw him shouting at his receptionist once, and I found her to be very pleasant, so I have no idea what she could have done so wrong. $33 a night is ridiculous, the... More

Not a good hostel, pretty dirty place, the room i stayed in was never cleaned and there was still rubbish from previous travellers, staff were generally unhelpful, and the rooms were very small. i stayed here for a week as they do not offer refunds so be careful once you book, as they need payment before they book you in. Wouldn't... More

As the Dingo Moon is recommended by Lonely Planet and many more and as the Rates are really high (35,5 AD in a mixed 4 Dorm) our expectations were also really high. The room was so small, Nr 7, and itmwas almost impossible to fit 4 People and luggage in there. It wasn't clean at all.the only positive Thing in... More

We stayed here four nights in a private room for four (a good size, with two sets of bunks plus a fridge, which was a great boon). The room was clean and had aircon, but no individual reading lights, just a big old strip light in the ceiling, which was a bit of a pain. The rest of the hostel... More

We (a couple) stayed in a private room. It was like staying in a demountable! Long-ish, narrow room with 1 window and door at one end. Low ceiling. Just a double bed, a single bed, a lamp, a fridge, a noisy air-conditioner, an even noisier oscillating fan and 3 hooks on the wall. The no cancellations policy (even with 72+... More

I stayed in Dingo Moon for a week for a holiday and going on a overnight trip in between. The hostel is located just a short walk off the main buzz on Mitchell Street where all the partying and noise happens. There is no bar in Dingo Moon which all the people I met found favourable as this meant everyone... More

Darwin is very expensive when it comes to accommodation so the term "you get what you pay for" doesn't really apply. We spent three nights that sandwiched a trip in between. On our first night we stayed in a private double. It was big enough and clean with two free bottle of water and a private fridge (came in very... More
