“A great place to stay in Port Douglas”

After over 8,000kms around Australia we arrived in Port Douglas looking for a place to stay that was reasonably priced... We stumbled on the newly refurbished Port Douglas Motel. We where made most welcome and I even got a cup of tea and a biscuit for Susie while I was catching up on emails outside reception on beautifully manicured lawns..... More

This motel has just been completely refurbished and is cheap by Pt Douglas standards. It is 1 minutes walk away from the main drag and the owners were really friendly and helpful and full of good advice. “It is what it is”

The Port Douglas Motel is an old motel that has been bought to re-furbish. It is cheap by Port Douglas standards. The motel is not far from Macrossan Street, which is the main strip, and is not far from Fourmile Beach. Compared to the cheap motels in Cairns it is pricey. Parking is very tight.

“Good compromise between location and rate”

This motel is a bit "vintage" compared to all "luxury" resorts in Port Douglas but this is a really good compromise between the location and the affordable rates. “Walking distance to pubs and restaurants”

“What a dump !!”

Got to Port Douglas late afternoon and found the location of this place to be very convenient. Till we got inside ! Dirty sheets, dirty bathroom, toilet not sanitised, floor filthy overall, this would have to be one of the worst motels we've ever stayed and they charge $90.00 for all these goodies. We are so sorry you had such an awful experience! We purchased this motel end of November 2012 and have totally refurbished it! It was run down,dirty and in shocking condition so I think you were brave to even spend one night as some rooms were uninhabitable according to our standards!
