Although not that cheap, this hotel is a lovely place to stay. Well located (a tram ride to town or beach!) and a great reception staff. Truly recommended. More

The Charslfield hotel is a lovely historic property - but beyond that, it was really convenient. Every day the concierge provided us with our transit passes, and we were able to hop on the trams that passed the door every 2 minutes and took us to all parts of the city. More

An old style mansion turned into an up market hotel located on St Kilda Road about 15 minutes by tram from Federation Square and Flinders Street. The moment you walk in the door you realise you have stepped into something elegant with old world charm. The restaurant serves great food in a charming ambience and the staff were very helpful... We stayed here on our wedding night, and loved it. It's a very charming house, and the people working there seemed nice. They gave us a bottle of sparkling wine for free when we told them it was our wedding night, and we really appreciated the gesture. We would have loved to have stayed longer and explored the house a... More

Like the feel of this hotel at St. Kildard. It looks like a mansion. The cheaper rooms are a tad small, bit outdated, but breath some athmosphere. It is a clean place. Nice for a weekend with breakfast and a bit of romance. I havent seen the bigger rooms. I thought the room was a bit expensive, but I have... More

Unique hotel with so many great touches, included! Shoe shining area, large billiard table, beautiful grounds. Service was great, little chocolates by the bed. A pleasant and affordable change from the modern box rooms that are so plentifully available in Melbourne. So peaceful and not a big hotel-easy access to city OR st kilda/chapel st. Will stay here again for... More

This is a charming hotel, steeped in history with service to match. We rarely eat in hotel restaurants, but had a wonderful 3 course meal on New Years Eve. Excellent wine list, cheese board and deserts. A guest laundry on site came in very handy after a couple of days on the road. Some tables under umbrellas out front are... More

We were delighted by the charming period features and warm, friendly atmosphere. So much more comfortable than an impersonal big hotel - it felt more like staying with a cosmopolitan extended family. The staff were welcoming and helpful in a sincere, personal way. The location on a tree-lined avenue a short tram trip from the city made for a pleasant... More

The Hotel Charsfield turned out to be an excellent place to host a seminar. The meeting room was beautiful, and the service was stellar throughout. The rooms are very comfortable and clean - I was very pleased. More

We have just returned from a one night stay at the Hotel Charsfield. We were very impressed with this beautiful hotel. It is a charming survivor from a bygone time..a really lovely building. The staff were very helpful and obligingly arranged for us, a new booking after illness forced us to cancel our original date. The room was very clean... More
