Absolutely loved our night at crash! The owner gave us all the information we needed about our Maori village visit and helped us out as best we could, even dropped us at the bus at half 7 the next morning which was massive bonus! Had a wicked stay and would recommend it to anyone going to rotorua! Thanks!!!!

This hostel is amazing and I would recommend it to you all! It's in a great location right near the centre of town with a handy pak`n`save practically on its doorstep. The staff are amazing, really helpful and friendly it seemed that literally nothing was too much trouble. We wanted to go mountain biking which I would also recommend and... More

Relaxed atmosphere, easy to meet people and always someone to talk to. But it is also easy to find some privacy if you like that better. Different ages, characters and nationalities around. Good clean kitchens, clean bright warm rooms, free pool table, hotpool, parking around the back and very very helpful staff. And also important: really cheap:) The owner Chris... More

Chris was our host and he made us feel most welcome. The location was just down from the Polynesian Spa and the lakefront park. Very warm inside and the upstairs is locked after 10pm, so also very secure. A good layout and very tidy.

Stayed there in April 2013 Nice hostel near the Government Gardens as well as the Polynesian Spa, and only about 5 minutes away from the Rotorua I-site. They have some lovely walks not too far away as well. Crash Palace itself is well equipped with 2 kitchens on each level that are very nice for cooking. The toilets and bathrooms... More

Friendly reception from Max. Wifi is cheap, but not free. You can get discount bookings on local attractions at the desk and save big. Sounds like they had a real party going on downstairs (they had a DJ's desk in the lobby area!) but my room seemed fairly sound proof. Some hostels provide towels for single rooms, they didn't, but... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights in February 2013. This is a well equipped, fairly large hostel with great outside space out back for barbecues, and general relaxing in good weather. There are 2 main kitchens with the usual facilities, my only complaint is that people seemed to neglect to wash up after themselves and leave dishes... More
