Got a 4 bed share. The room is nice and clean. The location is not so great, really far from the centre. One strange thing happened there, took a shower around midnight. All of the sudden, the lights went off then hair dryer was turned on. When I came out to turn the lights back on, no one was there.... More

Staff was friendly when we checked in late night, room was clean, but rooms are too small for the convenience, clean kitchen was a welcome surprise...has got ample parking for cars...all in all a satisfying deal...

We were really pleased initially when we booked in here as the staff are friendly, the rooms and public areas looked clean and the bike storage was great, but that's where it ended. Very clean and well organised hostel. Kitchen particularly good - plenty of space for food storage and regular clearing of fridges etc meant that it was cleaner and tidier than any other yha hostel we stayed in on our trip. Found the YHA in Rotorua a definite cut above most hostels. Purpose-built and well-run. Clean, efficient, and well-equipped. Predominantly young people, of course, but I (60+) didn't feel at all out of place.

Everything is expensive in New-Zealand so it is not cheap (NZD 26 per person in 4 beds dorm) but it is clean and nice. Kitchen is big and it is quite. I think it is a nice hostel to stay at, beds are comfortables too.
