We've stayed at this Nomads a couple of times and would definitely go back. The rooms can be fairly small but we've been 'upgraded' both times into rooms with smaller dorms so can't complain. There seem to be lots of bathrooms so not having ensuite really isn't a problem. I never had to wait for a shower/toilet, or even saw... More

I stayed here with my parents for two nights in a king room. The staff was really friendly and it wasn't a problem at all to put an extra bed in there. The room was nice and had a clean and spacious bathroom. We haven't used the kitchen or the lounge area, but I know that they offer a free... More

Having stayed in Nomads in Queenstown, which was a great hostel, I was left disappointed with this one. I was in a 4 bed dorm and found it to be quite claustrophobic. The only window looks out into a central external lightwell. Shower rooms were clean, but the noisy nearby nightclub didn't give me a good nights sleep, and I... More

Coming from South Africa and not knowing New Zealand very well, i found Nomads Wellington to be an excellent base from which I could explore the country. Arriving from the hellish SA-NZL flight at 12:30pm, I was helped quickly and efficiently and soon found my comfortable bed to catch up on some sleep. There is a good range of rooms,... More

It´s in principal a nice hostel, good location, only 15 min. walk from the ferry and 2 min. from Isite/city centre. It´s convienent with elevator and 24h staff. It´s just very big and commercialised. The room also had a funky smell and only a small window to let some fresh air in.

We stayed here in a double room for about 2 weeks while we searched for jobs. One member of staff was nice and helpful but the rest seemed uninterested. The kitchen was small and almost unusable. It is in a good central location and we recommend it for people on a budget.

A good place for a family. The twin rooms very good value. The staff are lovely and friendly if not a bit busy at times (not their fault). We had one complaint which was something outside the hotel's control and the hotel sorted us out in a very friendly and co-operative manner. Would definately go back with the family.

We needed a overnight close to bus and ferry connections. Good location for that. When we turned down the bed found the button off someone elses clothes! Front desk very unconcerned about the fact sheets not changed!

The beds are very noisy which can be frustrating at times!! Throughout the hostel there is no atmosphere so therefore theres probably more life in a corpse!! The service whilst checking in is poor and they do not co-operate accordingly!!!

Nomads wellington SLEEP QUALITY: Very bad. This is a party hostel so you have people coming in and out the rooms all night. Not only that but the beds are unbelievably squeaky and the slightest movement will wake anyone up. LOCATION: Very good. Right in the centre close to everything and walking distance to the ferry. Also the Kiwi experience... More
