This was a really nice, well presented, clean, warm, roomy unit - with friendly staff. Good location and reasonably quiet street. I arrived at the wrong motel down the same street and was very disapointed with it - but not Alcala - it was great.

We found the owners of this motel confrontational and unreasonable. It spoiled what could have been a lovely stay for us. For this reason i would not stay here or again, nor recommend it to friends. I found this place through bookings.com where it have excellent reviews and reasonable price. It sure didn't disappoint! We arrived early but they allpwed us to heck in early. You can also get fairly fast wireless internet for $10. The owners were really nice:) Stayed for 2 nights, and there's nothing I could complain about! Recommended

Would definitely stay here again! Rooms were clean, warm, spacious and cosy with very comfortable beds. It's close to central Christchurch. The hosts are very helpful and friendly and the price is great value for money. Loved the spa!!!

The Alcala Motor lodge lived up to my expectations. Absolutley nothing special, but nothing wrong with it either. I would not hesitate to stay there again. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean. Also, nice and quiet, though I was at the far end from the road.
