We should have given our review some time ago on this great Bed and Breakfast. Angela was an absolutely outstanding host who went the extra mile to make our stay an enjoyable one. The accommodation was an nostalgic gem. Breakfast was superb and included locally sourced produce, a nice touch. We would defiantly recommend this Bed and Breakfast if you... More

We night have gotten off on the wrong foot with Angela Tidey, the computer geek turned B&B hostess at this somewhat gothic, high-ceilinged home on the outskirts of one of the South Island’s must-see towns, in that we asked for some accommodation to our schedule since we were pretty sure we’d be arriving late. Nope. Her day ends at promptly... More

What a delight! We had two memorable nights at Bygone Era B&B recently (March 2012) and Angela could not have made us feel more at home or give us a more wonderful introduction to Dunedin. She is welcoming, knowledgeable, professional and generous and will charm you with her friendliness, wicked sense of humour and attention to detail. We stayed in... More

Bygone Era is a late Victorian/Edwardian home which Angela is painstainkingly restoring. The bedrooms and common areas are packed with original features and Angela has a great collection of period furniture -- check out the phonograh in the lounge. Our room was well furnished with a lovely comfy bed and a spanking new ensuite. Although it was one of the... More

We stayed here in mid-March and were so glad we did. Angela knows what it takes to run a successful B&B and her attention to even the smallest detail did not go unnoticed by us. The house is a 1900's Victorian in a quiet area of Dunedin and is within walking distance to restaurants. The bedroom was comfortable with upscale... More

We stayed with Angela for 2 nights in March 2012. She was a very welcoming hostess and the accommodation was excellent. The breakfasts are great and the beds super-comfy. Angela runs an extremely professional B & B and we would definitely recommend it to anyone.

On a recent 9 day holiday to New Zealand my wife and I decided to stay at B&Bs. We had many nice stays but the best by far was Bygone Era in Dunedin. Our host, Angela, could not do enough for us, even to the point of carrying our luggage to and fom our rental car!! She was helpful and... More

Loved it. Very nice bed and the en suite was well worth it. Angela was a great hostess and she makes a fantastic French toast - all the breakfasts were very good! Lots of extra special touches made for a very nice stay, we would really recommend this place to stay. The location is a bit out of downtown but... More

We arrived on a damp day and received a very warm welocme with afternoon tea served in Angela's prized silver teapot. 'Bygone Era' lived up to its reputation - very clean, very comfortable beds with the quality of linens and towels we have at home. Angela is hardworking, friendly and extremely hospitable. She offers advice when asked and is not... More
