This Bed and Breakfast lived up to its website claims which is not always the case. My partner and I stayed at the Yellow House for two nights from April 11-13, 2012. We had a great water view from "The Bedroom", a very comfortable double bed and modern ensuite bathroom. Jan and Mike went to great trouble to inform us... More

This B&B is out on the Otago Peninsula right on the water at Portobello and the view across to Pudding island from our room was stunning. Our hosts, Jan and Michael are delightful people who looked after us with great care and are delightful to have a chat with at the end of the day. We decided to cook our... More

My partner and I stayed at the Yellow House for 2 nights at the end of February and loved it. We stayed in the Starry Suite, which has views all around and a partial glass ceiling so you can see the sky at night. The room is (very) large and spacious, with a comfortable bed, an eating area, sofas and... More

How grateful we are that friends recommended we stayed on the Peninsular instead of Dunedin. This B & B was a real find. Set on the hillside overlooking Pudding Island it was really relaxing. The room was large with a huge patio door/window providing masses of light and a great view. It was spotlessly clean with a big, comfy bed... More

This B&B is something special. We had a beautiful bedroom with floor to ceiling window/ sliding French doors overlooking the garden and the nearby bay. The ensuite bathroom was well equipped - all in all a really high standard of accommodation. Jan and Mike are excellent hosts, doing everything possible to make your stay a pleasant one and to give... More

If you travel this area because of Otago Peninsula (and not so much because of Dunedin) this is your place to stay. Situated in Portobello on Otago Peninsula it´s peaceful and calm and run by Jan and Mike, who really do an excellent job as hosts. We stayed at the state-of-the-art Starry Suite, which is a bit more expensive than... More

We spent a three day stay at The Yellow House and were thouroughy satisfied. The room was spectacular: modern with great tasteful furniture, a great view and very comfortable. The hosts were knowledgeable and anxious to help in planning trips about the Otago Peninsula. They helped us plan an itinerary and see sights we would otherwise have missed.

I lucked out with getting one night at the Yellow House at a very busy time in Dunedin. It was my top experience of my 3 week roadtrip in NZ. Jan and Mike are superb hosts. The bed, the pillows, the peacefulness were heavenly. The room with its own ensuite was lovely as was the magical view to pudding island... More

My husband and I stayed in the Yellow House B&B for three nights in late January 2013. There are two rooms in the B&B: the Starry Suite, which is larger and more expensive, and a regular ensuite room. We chose to stay in the smaller room for financial reasons, although we did look at the Starry Suite and it's spectacular.... More
