Spent two nights here in may2013 as a walk-in.Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Beautiful city.great pub and eateries within walking distance. Room was spotless. free newspaper.Would highly recommend!

I was a tad wary when booking as a we were travelling on a budget for a girls weekend away. This place really was awesome, clean, spacious, and the staff so friendly. Definitely be staying here again.

Great place to stay when in Dunedin. I recently spent 2 nights in Dunedin and found the accomodation excellent. Service was friendly and helpfull, room was nice and clean and had everything you needed. Close to the city center - only 10 minutes straight down George Street. Good value for money.

The Alcala Econo Lodge is situated on George Street, Dunedin, close to the University of Otago, the Dunedin Museum and downtown--all within easy walking distance. Our host, Gary, was very helpful and the room was very clean and well appointed, with a full kitchenette.

Very nice and tidy. The suite was quite modern. If you can't walk up a lot of stairs definitely ask for a ground floor suite as it's quite a hike up the stairs. Good location as it's not too far from town.

Roomy and very clean unit with a full kitchen. Close to centre of city. Great value for money. Complimentary wireless internet and guest laundry. Unfortunately the heater in the unit was not working properly during our stay, otherwise I would have rated this establishment as excellent. Will definitely return.

Everywhere I usually stay in Dunedin was booked out and was therefore "forced" into seeking accommodation with a higher price tag than I usually do.
