Of all the beautiful places we stayed during our month long trip round NZ Kaimata comes out tops. It is quite a way out from Dunedin on rather narrow, twisting roads. Our satnav took us on a very odd route and at the end of a very long drive we wondered where on earth we were going. However all our... More

We have traveled much of the world and stayed in some pretty great places, but Kaimata is just at the top of any list. Kyle and Rachel are wonderful people, posters for Kiwi charm. You shouldn't separate the beauty of the resort itself from them; they built it, they decorated it, and they keep it perfect with great grace and... More

It's not easy to find but it's worth the effort. Dunedin is a nice town, well worth taking time out of a South Island tour to visit and the Otago Peninsula is the spectacular spur of land heading off into the ocean from the town. The lodge is purpose built with a luxurious 'eco-lodge in the wilds' feel. Kyle and... More

We stayed here with our family of 5 over the New year holiday, and everyone agreed it was the best thing on our trip. As we were 5, we rented the entire retreat(which I strongly recommend), which was like having our own vacation home already outfitted for us.
