We celebrated two family birthdays at Blanket Bay over the weekend. From making the booking through to departure, everything was perfect. We arrived by helicopter with Heliworks after a trip to the Earnslaw Burn, this was an excellent way to arrive. We were welcomed by the lovely staff on the lawn and one of the couples was returning guests and... More

Gosh, what an amazing report. Thank you. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you during your all-too-short stay with us. What I do know is, you will have been well taken care of by Judy, Karen and Ruth’s restaurant team. It is always super to have friends and family travelling together and especially pleasing to see guests returning with... More

We wanted to stay somewhere special for our 25th wedding anniversary and Blanket Bay Lodge exceeded our expectation. The property is stunningly beautiful set in a tranquil environment in an amazing landscape, sweeping lawns overlook Lake Wakatipu with snow capped mountains beyond, the surroundings are impressive. The lodge is extremely warm and the atmosphere relaxing, the decor features mainly timber... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a report about your stay with us. It was fun to have you at the lodge and particularly to learn by complete co-incidence we had other local guests in-house the same night who were such close friends of yours. You'll have to make the get together an annual event! It... More

Thanks so much for endorsing us Tyler, come back soon! Whilst it is an amazing privilege to look after our international visitors from all over the world and proudly show them the best of New Zealand, it is a real pleasure to see more and more ‘locals’ exploring and enjoying their own country. This report is testimony to the fact... More

We could not have chosen a better location and residence to celebrate our 30 wedding anniversary than Blanket Bay Lodge. Set on the edge of Lake Wakatipu, majestic snow capped peaks either side of the lake, sweeping lawns and secluded from the road, this small hotel is exceptional. We stayed in the Paradise suite and found the room, superb. Comfy... More

My wife and I stayed at Blanket Bay for 3 nights and were blown away by both the lodge and the location. The lodge has a much more intimate feel than the big chain hotels and it almost feels like you are staying at a friends place (all be it a very wealthy friend!). There's the games room, the den... Thank you so much for your lovely report about your stay with us. We are so lucky in New Zealand to have a collection of lodges spread through both islands which offer visitors a unique experience away from, as you say, the typical chain hotel accommodation. All of the lodges are privately owned with wonderful locations; each one offers a... More

No matter how little time you have, Blanket Bay can transport you (by helicopter) to the priceless beauty of New Zealand's Southern Alps, or slow you right down so you seem to hang motionless in the dramatic landscape of snow-capped cliffs rising almost sheer out of the blue waters of Lake Wakatipu. The lodge itself, constructed from local schist and... More
