We stayed here for one night on our way to Ararat. Never again. The outside looks ok, and the cheap rate sucks you in. The rooms smelt bad: a combination of mould, dog and dust. Very VERY tiny rooms, old dirty carpet and I doubt the decore has been changed since the 70's. We didn't dare use the coffee facilities.... More

For $95 we were happy. The room was clean and comfortable, good shower, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, box with mugs, plates, teatowel & usual supplies, & aircon. Very nice proprietor and very easy pleasant walk 2 blocks back toward city to a place with pizza to drool over.

The rooms are very old but the bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. Once i found the ketttle it was a complete holiday . the staff were great helped with sorting out where to eat, and very friendly. Car park was a problem as people went outside to smoke and talk, 1 am not great for families.

Very basic room. Upon entering you get a very strong odour of stale pee. Very off putting. Very old appliances and decor. The bathroom is small, and cold and doesn't have a fan so everything becomes moist after your shower. Got into Ballarat fairly late & the only place open was The Avenue - unfortunately. No wonder it was open - they are obviously desperate.
