This holiday park also had a few options for backpackers. There was a separate building with 10 beds in it (5 bunks). They were separated by partitions in the wall so 2 sets of bunk beds in 2 sections and one set of bunk beds in the main room. The middle of the room had a table and chairs and... More

We stayed here for two nights and slept in our Campervan. The backpackers has all needed facilities and a kitchen with all you need. The highlight is the swimming pool and the hothub. It is open until 9.30 pm an after a long day of hiking it is perfect to chill out at the end of the day. The staff... More

Camp site, very clean, comfortable, but there was no hanging space hung every thing on the bunk beds that where in the room, also no draws. Im old fashion and like to unpack. Bed very comfortable. I enjoyed the BBQ area as it was a great place to meet people and spend the evening drinking wine etc.

We stayed here two nights (Feb 2013) in a campervan then came back for a third later on our way back to the airport ... it really deserves a review as the owners were all so friendly and helpful, offering us herbs from the garden, finding us silver foil to barbecue our fish in, stopping to chat, etc. It's a... I spent about 6 months in Whangarei working and on my days off I would go and stay at a hostel. This place would have been my choice place to stay but the internet they offered was ridiculously expensive. Its a few minutes away from the Whangarei falls, a quick bus ride away from town but what sold me on... More

This was really homely and the proprietors had obviously put a lot of effort in. When we first arrived we received a personalised tour, so lovely! There was a wee herb garden next to the BBQ which was available for use, and all the facilities were regularly cleaned and were spotless. The communal cooking area was really friendly, we ended... A few friends and I stayed here for two nights and it was really lovely. When you drive up to the place, you think, "Where the heck am I? What is this place?" It looks a bit dated and unused. However, once you meet the owner, you immediately feel right at home. He was very nice and told us about... More

We picked this place to stay in our campervan because it was so close to the falls and an easy place for us to continue our journey from. We were origianlly only planning on staying one night but liked it so much here we decided to stay another night. We received a very friendly welcome & were shown all the... More

It was a bit different from an ordinary backpakcers mainly because it's also a holiday park. You have to go outside to go to the toilet, shower, and kitchen. They also have a swimming pool, hot spa and trampoline - great for children. The 10-bed dorm room was divided into three sections, two of which had a curain you can... More
