Great location for all the amazing activities Kaikoura has to offer (it's such a great town), lovely view from the kitchen onto the ocean, good facilities standard for yha. And it was quiet. Parking right at the front. We had a good time there and when we go back to Kaikoura, we will book the YHA again.

Great little backpackers! The staff are friendly and happy to recommend and help book your excursions, they offer discounts for some too! A handy little shop, and great views of the ocean and mountains. Facilities are basic but clean and prices are very fair. A positive backpackers experience!

Beautiful views, comfortable bed and great showers, although downstairs so had to walk past kitchen and main hang out areas trying not to drop everything! Overall a good stay!

You always know what you are getting with a YHA... small room, noisy doors slamming and footsteps above at all hours of the morning. It has a beautiful sea view however but it is far from the main town centre. It was very tidy but nothing to write home about
