Stayed 19/2/2013 Room was DISGUSTING, expensive, no Towels, TV not going, Curtains stuck to each other, BEDDING was FOWL, Cobwebs on Window, Floor FILTHY, Toilet and Bathroom was a PIG STY. The reason the hostel doesn't show a picture is because it looks like something out of a hitchcock film. The rooms are filthy and probably haven't seen a duster since it was built. Stayed here as part of a group tour - rooms were very scruffy and cramped. Although ours was an en-suite, we were all reluctant to use the shower as it didn't seem particularly clean. Wouldn't recommend.

Really cheap double room with en suite and comfy bed. However there was a lot of noise the night we stayed due to intoxicated fellow guests. Staff were lovely and otherwise a great place to stay. Excellent location.

Very charming building. But also very dated. Tight quarters. The free soup was yummy. Not my favorite stay as we toured the South Island. Stayed only one night. Pillows very flat and beds kinda worn out.
