Would thoroughly recommend this park. Well priced and friendly staff explained the interesting places of interest . Exeptional service the park manager escorted us to our caravan bay and upgraded to a different bay as it would have been a tight squeeze. Then assisted my husband to guide the caravan into the bay. Old fashioned service and this park is very... More

We stayed for one night on our way through from Carnarvon to Broome. Unfortunately this seemed the only place to stay, and therefore they knew that they could charge you $42 a night for a powered tent site. The kitchen was pretty large and decent for the ground. Showers and toilets weren't too bad either, they were clean and relatively... More

We chose this caravan park because it had a BIG4-equivalent quality-level and it certainly met this requirement. We were allocated a site for our motorhome overlooking Pretty Pool which meant we had a good view of sunset over Port Hedland and the twinkling lights of the town after dark. The park managers were courteous and helpful, for example they refilled... More

We stayed at Cooke point as part of our trip, around oz. very nice park, great views of the port especially at night. Has all the basics, the surrounds are very clean. Nice breeze comes of the inlet. Good place to stay if you need to stock up.

We camped here for one night while passing through. There is one thing to keep in mind about Port Headland it is a mining town and everything is geared to the industry and the caravan parks are no different. This Park is made up of many on site Park home units and long term caravans as rentals and housing in... More

We spent just the one night on a powered site, but would have stayed longer if the prices hadn't been so horrendous. The park is conveniently placed with a lovely outlook. Excellent concrete pads for backing into and parking up against. The amenities are a bit claustrophobic but we would happily recommend this caravan park t those with big pockets.... More

We were planning to stop over for a couple of nights at least but decided to start with one night (thank god) just in case there was nothing to see or do... and basically, nothing to see and do won the day... but I digress, $52 for an offseason overnight stay in a powered site is ridiculous... its any wonder... At $156AUD for two persons overnight, it's probably one of the cheaper places to stay - we drove around for about two hours looking for places in Port Hedland and South Hedland and couldn't find anything cheaper! Being a mining town. We checked in at 9pm, and although the reception had long closed on a Sunday night - they were... More

I've stayed at Cooke Point Holiday Park 3 times. This last time we were lucky to get the motel units. The room was small but still very comfortable. I love the mattress. Its firm and I had on of my best sleep on it. The lady at the reception is also very friendly. She made all of us feel welcomed.... More

With big distances to travel, it pays to book ahead. There is not a lot of choice in Hedland, so we were pleased with this Park. We were allocated a cement slab site and we were soon organised, and experienced a very quiet night. The amenities were a short distance away, and were spotlessly clean. At the time of our... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Cooke Point Holiday Park is an oasis within the rugged mining town of Port Hedland. Located on a peninsula where the Indian Ocean meets Pretty Pool Inlet, guests enjoy a unique level of resort park accommodation with facilities for tourists, backpackers and business travellers. Cooke Point Holiday Park is a fantastic location from which to explore the magnificence of the Pilbara in Western Australia's rugged North West. After the long drive from Broome in the north or one of the southern towns, you will find this park to be a refreshing coastal oasis and the perfect holiday destination. Cooke Point Holiday Park allows its residents to relax, unwind and indulge in all that the port has to offer. Port Hedland is a dynamic town of over 15,000 people located in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. It is renowned for its indigenous culture and history, long trains, big ships, salt piles and red dust. Often referred to as the friendliest town in the Pilbara, the local people make Port Hedland what it is today. Port Hedland has lovely warm weather. Located right on the coast, Port Hedland is a great spot to indulge in a variety of marine leisure activities. Fishing in the region is superb! Port Hedland is also home to Flatback Turtles and Humpback Whales. The turtles can be seen on Cemetery Beach, Cooke Point, Munda Beach and Pretty Pool from October - March. BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s crushing and shipping facility at Nelson Point dominates the landscape of Port Hedland. The Port is one of the world’s largest in tonnage terms, with over 70 million tonnes of product worth more than $3 billion shipped each year. Cooke Point Holiday Park provides an excellent vantage point for the “Stairway to the Moon”. Generally seen between March to October each year Stairway to the Moon is created when a full moon rises over the shoreline at low tide. As the moon rises, rays of light hit pools of water left behind by the receding tide. It creates an illusion of a “stairway” leading up to the moon. Karijini National Park, famous for its beautiful waterfalls, cool plunge pools and deep gorges and Millstream Chichester National Park, a landscape of rolling hills, spectacular escarpments and winding tree-lined watercourses are within easy driving distance. ... more   less
