Me and my daughter aged 13 lived here for a couple of days i December 2011. Lived, or slept actually, when we were not shopping or having dinner. This hotel gives you a good night sleep, close to everything, even the street, but not really that annoying. It is old but well kept, and gives a good nostalgic feeling. We... More

I visited with my wife Hotel Metropole in Riga 01.12 - 03.12.2011. If you want some history combined with modern comfort, you will enjoy staying at the oldest hotel in Riga, built in 1871 and completely renovated in 1992 in Scandinavian style decor. The owner of this hotel is Mr Åkesson from Sweden. It is a 4 star hotel located... More

The hotel is located on the edge of the old town and close to the bus stop for the number 22 bus to the airport. I was given a complimentary drink voucher on checking in. I had booked a single room which was on the second floor and was facing away from the road so there was no noise from... More

They put us at the 5th floor and there was no lift! They told us that it will be "repaired" next day but I saw the Escape Plan and the lift was beyond a plywood fence! As a review here, the hotel is "smaller". They are splitting the hotel in two! They lied to us. More

Hotel was recomended by the information bureau. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The price was reasonable for this type of hotel and at the edge of the old town. More

As I have stayed at Metropole already seven times during three years I can call myself as professional when it comes to this matter. As my point of view Metropole is nice, cozy hotel but not four stars in my standards. However, I go back there every time when I need to go to Riga for business. Staff is helpful... More

This hotel is very centrally located just at the edge of the old town. This is the best part about this hotel. It can also be reached by foot from the train station and most bus routes. It used to be a big hotel, but now most of the hotel is closed off. I assume only 1/3 of the place... More

Liked this hotel and would stay again. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. Comfortable stay, good breakfast. Clean and quiet. Elevator wasn't working but it was just a couple flights to my room so no big deal plus they gave me a free drink at the bar for the inconvenience. Hotel is located just a 2 minute walk... More

The Metropole is very well located at the edge of the historic center city of Riga, well within walking distance to everything. The rooms are immaculately clean, the breakfast is a decent buffet, and the staff is friendly and helpful. But the review is not all good. Because Riga was the last stop of our weeklong Baltic tour, we made... More

The Metropole is just across the street from the bus station which for us was great since we arrived late at night. It's also in the Old Town so all the attractions are close by. It's also on the side of the Old Town very close to the opera, which is one block away, and the Freedom Monument from where... More
