Casa Tamargo could not have been better - well-situated, clean and attractive. Matilde and Felix were delightful hosts, solicitous but not intrusive. Matilde prepared the best food in Trinidad, while Felix mixes a mean Mojito or Daiquiri. The house is in the historic centre of this beautiful old town, so all the places of interest are only a short walk... More

We spent 5 days at the Casa Tamargo in February 2013. It was the best stay we had in our round-trip in Cuba. Felix and Mathilde are hosts who treat their guests in a professional way. The meals they served us, were much better than in any of the restaurants where we ate. We had a nice room, and the... More

A unique occasion to live in an old colonial style house of Trinidad. Not only is the house beautiful, with its huge entrance hall, its ancient furniture, its big patio and its terrace overlooking the town, but the room to stay in is large (we had 3 beds) and comfortable, the dinner (and breakfast) are excellent, and it is very... Our second stay at Casa Tamargo, (the last time was Feb. 2011). The casa is located well, the hosts are honest and sincere; the food is great and Felix's drinks are awesome. It does help to speak some Spanish to fully appreciate these wonderful people. We stayed 5 nights; toured several areas and enjoyed our visit once again!

Felix and Mathilde welcomed us to their wonderful little corner of paradise. Not only is it well situated within Trinidad but the tranquil inner courtyard/garden is a fantastic retreat for relaxing or enjoying a pina colada made by Felix! The rooms are pristine clean and comfortable, hot shower, and really excellent food prepared lovingly by Mathilde. All in all I... More

We have just stayed 4 nights at Casa Tamargo and we were very happy with our stay. The owners and staff are great and look after you in any way they can. The meals and drinks offered are delicious and very filling and they are very accommodating if you wish to eat something different (for example, if you are a... More

Can't recommend too highly. We didn't like the Casa we were in, knocked on the door of Tamargo at random and were greeted by the rather amazing old man. They had a room the following night for two nights, and after a brilliant reference from the French couple there having breakfast we booked in. Best decision. Best. You have to... More

Friendly owner, clean and comfortable room (Fan / AC) and delicious food!!! Good value for money. Good Service such as daily room cleaning, drinks&snacks and laundry. It was the first time that we were satisfied with a casa particular in Cuba. We had stayed in other casas and hotels in Cuba but Casa Tamargo is surly the best one. Felix,... More

This is a lovely safe casa in the middle of Trinidad very close to the heart of the town so an easy walk home after a night out. The room was spacious, the bed incredibly comfortable, the patio and terrace really lovely and there is are washing sinks and a clothes line. The owners were very helpful and welcoming though... We stayed four days and nights in Trinidad and lived in Casa Tamargo, owned and run by Felix and Matilde. It was the highlight of our Cuba vacation. The place is clean and proper and well kept and run. It has a patio which is intimate, quiet and charming. Matilde is a gourmet-cook, and she and Felix make us feel... More
