This will be the third time I have stayed at the Aaron Shipman House over several years. I stay there when I have events two days in a row in DC. The owners are a delight and are at the breakfast table with the guests.Great conversation at breakfast. All three times I have booked the smallest room which is quite nice... More

Arron Shipman House has become our home away from home! Breakfast is always delicious and plentiful. We especially love starting our day meeting such interesting folks from all over! Jackie and Charles are the most gracious of hosts so if you are shy you're never pressured to converse. There is a great selection of restaurants (all have outside seating), live... More

i was in d.c. for a nursing convention. everyone was jealous that i got to come "home" every evening to a b&b, rather than a dull hotel room! and it was cheaper - but you gotta book early to save a room for you!! sitting on the patio, welcoming with a cookie, lucious breakfast, nice people, cozy room, no noise,... I was with traveller 1972, I loved the house. Big american house, comfortable, roomy, great porch on the back. Jackie and Charles are great. They clearly love doing this. Great idea to have breakfast together and talk, we met lovely people, americans and tourists like us. The area is lovely, lots of restaurants. First time I stayed in a B&B... More

We stayed at Aaron Shipman House for two nights. The B&B is located about 5 blocks from U Street Metro station (a good 5-10 min. walk). We were welcomed by Charles, one of the hosts. He was very warm and friendly. The house itself is absolutely stunning. The owners put their hearts and souls into renovating the house after having... More

A block away from a bus line that went right to the Smithsonian, 4 blocks from a Metro stop. Great restaurants nearby. Wonderful hosts that knew the area and made all guests feel like they were guests - not just paying customers. Would definitely stay there again.

We were in Washington for 4 nights and loved the house, its location and the hosts - Charles and Jackie. The best part was the breakfasts each morning, not just the good and hearty food but meeting the other guests as we all sat around the large dining table together swapping travel stories and tips for what to see and... The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The owners were interesting to talk to and extremely nice...they even invited my sister (who lives in the area) to join us for breakfast. Breakfast was served together with all the other guests, making for lively and interesting conversation over coffee cake, strudel, Eggs Benedict, and other goodies.

I can only repeat what others have said: the owners are wonderful and make everyone feel right at home. The house is beautiful, in a great location. I enjoyed the breakfast with other guests, who were very interesting, and I also enjoyed the beautiful porch and backyard--a perfect place to read a book on a nice day. I'll definitely stay... More

This was our second stay at the wonderful Aaron Shipman House. It's close to most DC attractions, but in our case, the attraction we most care about is our little granddaughter, and the B&B is only a few minutes' walk from there. Jackie & Charles are very gracious hosts, offering a delicious sit-down breakfast every morning. We particularly enjoy meeting... More
