We didn't mind walking... not big fans of the Metro, which coincidentally crashed a few days later. This is definitely not a hotel that you would relax in your room. DO NOT STAY HERE...THEY MAKE UP CHARGES ON BILL ..And when they fixed it when we checked out. Next day checked bank acct and there are more charges that we never made..And when called to speak to manager she wouldn't even come to phone she said call accounting on Monday.. Facilities were clean and adequate but lacking in service and beds were terrible. But for the most part a good stay. The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and if you're in good shape within walking distance to the historial venues. The Plaza is 3 blocks from the metro and 5 or 6 blocks from the White House, so it is well positioned for tourists. We stayed at the Washington Plaza July 4th week. Our first time to DC. Didn't know what to expect. The hotel is nice and clean. The only sign of age was in the bath but, a chipped tile here and there isn't a reason to complain. The Staff was friendly and helpful. The Washington Plaza Hotel is conveniently located in DC, just three blocks from the McPherson Square METRO station, making getting to and from Reagan National airport quick and cheap wihtout changing lines.
