We just spent two days at the Apalachicola River Inn and enjoyed it. This is not the Ritz so ignore the reviews who complain about the decor. It's an older hotel located right on the water so you can literally watch the oyster and shrimp boats go by and the sun come up in the morning. In fact, we even... More

Stayed here before and will again. It's not a Hilton but the location is on the river with a small balcony. Rooms are old with an early garage sale decor but still clean. No wi-fi, yuck! We did have an excellent breakfast included at Caroline's. Easy walk to town. This had the old town feel of a workers economy but... More

Me and my fiance have made this place a home. We try to visit at least once every other month. Everything about this inn is amazing. The free breakfast they offer is outstanding the fact that you can fish right outside your room makes it perfect. Apalachicola is the best place for oysters and fishing. Everytime we get the urge... The rooms all had water views overlooking the Apalachicola River. Rooms on 2nd floor had screened in porches, while rooms on first share common porch. Rooms on 2nd floor are also more expensive. Room was very large, bathroom was luxurious and the water view was fantastic. Some other reviewers mentioned lack of fridge or microwave in room and I'd have... More

Run down a bit but they attempt to keep this older motel in good order. Should have given me the $20 off the room for the Internet coupon but I could not find the copy I made that was stuffed somewhere in our vacation loaded vehicle. Does not honor AAA or Senior discounts. Best thing was the screened in balcony... More

After reading the reviews I booked a few nights here. My brother was meeting us here, so I hoped the bad reviews weren’t all correct. Here’s the good, the bad, and the laid back. First, you can’t really review this place without reviewing the town too. Apalachicola is a working town (fish and seafood) and not a resort town. There... More

We stayed in the large suite recently with another couple for 3 nights. My husband and I had stayed in the area last September at the Coombs Inn (which was extremely disappointing), and viewed this suite before we left town, and subsequently made reservations for this trip. Boss' restaurant is directly located below this unit and it gets busy at... More

Did some of the reviewers stay at the same place? - it doesn't appear it to us.The hotel is quaint but very expensive for the room one gets, however that goes with the riverside location (we had a lovely view of the road bridge too!) and it seems to be busy. The hotel, Boss Oyster and Caroline's is owned by... More

SuziTours, You reviewed The Apalachicola River Inn and systematically picked it apart to justify your opinion of the room rates. With due respect I will in turn pick your review apart to point out serious flaws in your reasoning. The hotel is quaint, but expensive for the room one gets however that goes with the riverside location. I agree that... More

This is our first stay at the River Inn and we loved it. The staff was so friendly and we loved the private balcony over looking the river on the second floor. Thanks for visiting our inn and your kind review. The Apalachicola River Inn is like an old Florida lodge set in the historic district of this former steamboat cotton shipping town. The inn attaches to our restaurant Caroline's Dining on the River. All of the property including the Boss Oyster Restaurant( top 10 oyster bars in US Coastal Living Magazine... More

The Apalachicola River Inn is a quaint place in a historic town. It is not upscale, but it is clean and cute and friendly. But, the reason I would return there is it included the best breakfast my husband and I ever had at a hotel or B and B!!

Thank you for your kind response. We want to make your stay provide you with pleasant memories. Mother Nature plays a big part in that endeavor because of our unique riverfront location. If we can start each days stay with us with a memorable relaxing breakfast along the river the thought of your stay gets enhanced. No hard boiled eggs... More
