After staying in corporate, cookie-cutter hotels, the Hotel Jacaranda is a great experience. The old-fashioned elevator is a bonus, the room was clean and nicely furnished. A great place to stay - lovely old worlde feel and really attentive staff. Our suite had two rooms, connected by a bathroom, and really did make you feel like you were back in the 1920s - in a good way! Could do with a new mattress mind you! The Hotel Jacaranda's dining room is part of the Florida Community College system. The cooks/Chefs are students and teachers. The food is excellent and reasonable. This hotel combines history with all the updated things that travelers want. Good bed, clean, fresh room, internet, refrigerator, microwave (in the suites), and the old world charm of stepping back in time.
