This was our first stop in Tanzania after a brief overnight in Arusha. OUr group of six spent two nights and it was a very good choice. It is off the normal tourist route. But it was a good way to start out. Camp manager Sylvester was warm and welcoming to our "second home" and the staff was just wonderful.... More

Many people visit this camp before going other places on Safari or climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. We did the opposite, spending 10 nights in other Tanjanika Wilderness camps first. We began our trip with well appointed lodging and ended with the comfort and beautiful views of Kambi ya Tembo. So we were well seasoned at Safari viewing and practices before we... More

On your drive to this facility you may be questioning your decision. But once you arrive, the staff and the accommodations will make the bumps and dust of the travel worth the effort. The staff is very attentive and the covered tents are spaced so that you feel you are the only family there. We had a nice view of... More

Beautiful tented camp with great views of Kilimanjaro as well as Meru. Camp manager Sylvester and the Masai male staff were excellent. We were lucky to have a clear view of Kilmajaro the second morning at the Camp. Very plesant evenings with a fire going on the concrete deck watching the sun set. Large number of birds around the camp... More

We commenced our safari at Kambi ya Tembo and could not recommend it more highly. The almost completely Maasai staff welcomed and farewelled us like old friends. The service here was very personal and caring with everyone going out of their way to be helpful. We were fortunate enough to get a clear morning to see Mount Kili (one of... More

We were greeted very graciously by Sylvester, the manager at Kambi ya Tembo, after our long(perhaps made to seem longer because the road trip was not as smooth as our flight - or its landing) and dusty trip from the West Kilimanjaro airport . A Kibo Golden Lager certainly helped removed some of the dust we had inhaled. The facilities... More

The staff was very friendly and accomodating, and Sylvester the manager was welcoming. The tents were a pleasant surprise, quite roomy, mosquito netting all around, basic functional toilet and shower. The camp is perched on a hillside with nice breezes and lovely views of the surroundings and Mount Kilimanjaro, if you're lucky enough to have a clear day (we didn't).... More

From our mobile tent cabin, we awoke with a magnificent view of Mt. Kili and zebras grazing in front of our tent. We had only one night here but would have loved to stay longer. From Arusha we travelled through many Maasai villages, saw many wild animals from the safety of our van and then arrived at this oasis in... More

It is a small and very beautiful tented lodge run by a wonderful guy named Sylvester. The tents are spacious and beautifully set above the great view. This was our first night on an 8 day safari tour. sadly we only stayed one night. A lot of birds and animals walk about (we saw a wild boar and zebras next... More

We stayed here for two nights whilst on our safari, the road to the camp was non existant due to the rains but when we got there it was worth the drive. The tents were large with excellent en-suite showers and toilets with plenty of hot water supplied by the solar panels. It was very dry whilst we were there... More
