I recently went on a mother/daughter safari in Tanzania and spent 3 nights at Ubuntu. All the Asilia camps were great but Ubuntu was my favorite. The location is amazing, the migration passing right by our tent. You are really in the wilderness and the game drives were awesome, we were lucky to see the greatly reduced pack of Wild... More

This safari camp was my favorite of our entire safari. The staff, led by Epimark, were so amazingly attentive and friendly. The food was great and kind of unbelievable when you think about where we were and the logistics of getting the ingredients to this location. We arrived very late one night (in a rain storm) and we were greeted... More

Ubuntu was by far the nicest of the tented camp properties we stayed it! It was in the Ngorongoro area in February. The day bed was amazing where we could do our own "game drive" from our tent and watch giraffes and wildebeest from our tent. The camp is on a hill allowing you to overlook the area. At the... More

We really enjoy our stay at South Ubuntu Camp. Everything was perfect. Comfortable tent, excellent food and wine, perfect service, nice hospitality from Mike and Mark. Big thanks for all members of the team. Everyone take care of us. We won't forget that. They came check our tent at 5h am because of big rain. Everything was so clean even... More

I recently spent three nights (Feb2013) at the Ubuntu Camp (Asilia Group) in the South Serengeti. The staff, headed up by Epimark was absolutley wonderful. In addition to attending to every possible wish of their guests, their friendly and efficient service was commendable - could be a benchmark for all other hotels! Another quite notable feature of Ubuntu (and other... More

I'm a safari guide and I took visitors to Ubuntu in Feb 2013. The site used by Ubuntu in the Dec-March period is outstanding. Remember - no one can predict how much rain has fallen at any given location or at any date. The migration responds to rainfall not your camps location so two locations during a visit from Dec-March... More

This was our third experience of tented camps, having been to Lake Manze in Selous and Mdonye in Ruaha. They were all very comparable being the "real" safari experience. David and Mark at this camp were exceptional in their hospitality and attention to detail. The food at this camp was the best that we experienced. The tents fine - perhaps... More

Of the three Asilia sites we stayed at, this one was the most "camping" like as they were movable sites. Having said this, it is still luxury camping with great service, great food, and very adequate sleeping arrangements. The tent had flush toilets, a sink, and "bucket" showers. You have to experience the "bucket" showers...they were private (inside the tent),... More

We travelled to Ubuntu from Ngorongoro January 25th and encountered so much game, especially south of Ndutu, we felt spoilt. An abundance of lion and cheetah were obviously following the wildebeest and zebra as they begin to mass in the southern Serengeti. It was also coming into calving season for the migratory animals so lots of hyena and jackals following... More

We stayed at Ubuntu for one night in December 2012 on our way from Ngorongoro to Olakira Camp at Ndutu. We had planned 2 nights at Olakira but that turned out not to be possible. The camp is very far south in December. We were ahead of the migration which was at Ndutu. That said, the camp is in a... More
