The hotel is comfortable and in one of the nicest area in Angola's capital. But it lacks service, from the clerk, to the room service. Even in the breakfast area the waiters are not efficient as they should be. Fortunately the breakfast is very good More

I have stayed at the Alvalade many times, often for 4 to 5 weeks at a time. The rooms are comfortable, and have the amenities which are on a par with similar hotels in Europe. Air conditioning was effective, TV was adequate, free WiFi is provided but quality of connection was dependant on how far your room was from the... More

Stayed at the hotel for one night. Close proximity to airport was a plus. Early start and flight the next morning. The feel of the place is more like a gentlemans club, dark and deep woodwork, etc. Tropico has a better feel about it although same hotel chain. Breakfast good, rooms good, no complaints but would rather stay at tropico.... More

The hotel accommodation is of a high standard, but is let down by the poor service and food, and expensive...albeit all Angolan Hotels and Restaurants are expensive. Positive - close to Airport, particularly as the traffic in Luanda is very bad. More

This was the third time i had stayed at this hotel and had decided to give it the benefit of the doubt but after three visits, heres a summary. Hotel reception make it more difficult than it should be and although try hard, just not up to stand for a 4 star. Hotel rooms are nice enough but basic and... More

Good rooms (they look better than on the pictures), good food (but hi prices), good location (10 mn from the airport a major problem in Luanda!) Good wifi But..prices just crazy: 10 euros for a bootle of water in room service! Do not forget to make shopping before coming back in the hotel! Ask a quiet room as many have... More

Considering it is in Africa, and Angola specifically, this hotel was very good. Luanda is the most expensive city in the world and with that in mind, you can expect a very expensive room. Now, if only you could sense that the money spent was for an exceptional hotel.. Sadly it was not. This is a 4 star hotel with... More

Hotel Staff is kind, Room Quality very good for african Standard, Breakfast has wide range of Choices, Good Quality, Pool is good too, nice relaxing area on grasy ground. Just do not try to place a wake up call, would not work, only one thing which bothers, the big construction site just opposite side of street. More

I'ts a comfortable hotel with nice bedrooms. Maintenance is not at it's best but it may be the best you can get in Luanda. Everything is quite expensive and the service is slow and not very amicable. More

As I travel extensively in Africa, I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel considering that it is not internationally branded. Check-in was swift, efficient and welcoming with English being no problem at all. My standard double room was very pleasantly decorated in a modern imperial style with all the mod cons of stocked minibar, IDD phone and Sat TV (with... More
