Great location with everything around you- coffee shops, restaurants, supermarkets etc. Rooms are smallish and breakfast hall is unkempt. Reception is nice and polite. Some rooms have street and airport sound coming into your room all thru night. So ask for a quieter room. Okay value for money.

Let's start with the rooms we can qualified them as acceptable for Africa, but are not worth what they charge you! The breakfast is over expensive and the restaurant is terrible. It's definitely not the best hotel in town, and will only comeback there if all they others are fully booked.

Stayed one night at the hotel. Pool clean and air conditioning worked well. Minor fit/finish issues but normal for the area. Lots of street vendors/beggars outside hotel. The security guard tried to give me a counterfeit $5 bill.

The Splendid is a functional hotel located in the city center. Rooms are clean, A/C works, great water pressure. A little dated, carpet is worn, but it is quite satisfactory. Great location, really close to the airport. The rooms were air-conditioned and comfortable. Build quality wasn't the greatest, with a few cracked tiles. There was a fridge in the room. The room felt like being in a prison and several things (lights, ...) were not working. No, I did not like it and switched after 1 night.
