I stayed here for a night to unwind and relax after volunteering for two weeks' at Harnas Wildlife Sanctuary. The lodge is absolutely stunning and serene and the accommodation is just as beautiful. The staff are very professional, friendly and courteous. I did a behind the scenes tour with Marlice and I was fortunate enough to be the only one... More

The concept at Naankuse, a completely non profit organization, is conservation in the wild of large carnivores. They also provide a medical clinic and a school primarily dedicated to children of bushmen. Staying here helps them expand these needed programs and it is a luxury place to stay and visit. The rooms are what I would call African modern. The unique... More

The proximity to the airport made this a good choice for our last night in namibia. The main lodge was full, so we were placed in one of the nearby villas, which was massive, private, and very stylish (although whilst lovely, it was starting to crumble a little at the edges and there was lots of bird mess streaking the... Very good stop when arriving or leaving, as it is very close to the airport. But beware that the last tour to the see the animals starts at 3pm (I wish the travel agency would have told us that, the hotel was nice enough to let us join the tour "en route" as it was our last day, but I... More

We stopped here on our way back to the airport, hoping to see cheetahs. When we arrived (later than we expected) we realized that we only had about 45 minutes to spend at the sanctuary. Rhona was wonderful enough to ensure that we had an opportunity to see the cheetahs before leaving. Her desire to fulfill our wishes of seeing... More

My daughter Sheridan, her friend Carla and I went to Namibia to volunteer at the Naankuse Wildlife Sanctuary in January 2013. That in itself is a fantastic experience which I will write about at another time. During our 2 weeks at Naankuse we decided to spend a night at the Lodge to relax and clean up a little bit. From... I visited Naankuse Lodge in December and my heart still lingers back. It is the most amazing place with the loveliest people and the greatest food. We felt right at home and like royalty all at once. The rooms are amazing, giving you the whole nature experience in a upper class way. The view is picture perfect and heals the... More

I went to Naankuse Wildlife Sanctuary to Volunteer for 2 weeks. I absolutely LOVED IT! But during my stay I wanted to have a nice weekend away, so I booked 2 nights in the Lodge. For a Volunteer it was very cheap for what I recieved. It was absolute heaven! Myself and another Volunteer was the only people there, So... More

This was by far the best lodge we have stayed during our two week trip in Namibia! Absolutely amazing! The warm welcome, the very kind employees, the amazing food and wine, all this made our two day stay at the lodge an unforgettable experience! You should go for a full carnivore tour in any case. And don´t mess with the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
N/a'an ku se Lodge and Wildlife Sanctuary offers two types of accommodation: one for lodge guests at our luxury charity lodge, and one for volunteers looking to help with conservation. For our lodge guests, the N/a'an ku se Lodge is the ONLY charity lodge in Namibia, with all profits going back to the foundation's conservation and human aid programs. The Lodge offers six individual luxury chalets and five private holiday homes set in the middle of a 3,200ha wildlife reserve in the African Savannah. It is located only 30 minutes away from the airport and therefore makes it the ideal place to stay at the beginning or the end of your journey through Namibia. To view animals, our lodge guests have access to our carnivore tours and game drives, led by our local San Bushmen. For our volunteers, N/a'an ku se's Wildlife Conservation Volunteer Program is located at the Wildlife Sanctuary, and offers volunteers the rare and exciting opportunity to work closely with and actively participate in the conservation of African wildlife. Volunteers can stay from 2 weeks to 3 months and will have the opportunity to care for our orphaned and injured wildlife including a number of lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, caracals and baboons, etc. Both experiences will leave you with great memories of Namibia while aiding in our conservation efforts which better the lives of the local San Bushmen and our animals. ... more   less
