I'd highly recommend the Dolphin Guesthouse. The rooms were clean, quiet, and reasonably priced making it a welcome find in Thamel. The service was also excellent and extremely friendly. Surendra does a great job of making you feel welcome and gives great advice on sightseeing in the area. I ended up staying at the Dolphin Guesthouse 4 times during a... More

I've been in Nepal 20 days in August 2011 and more than 1 week in Kathmandu! I' m an italian girl and I travel alone and I found a home in dolphin!!! The owner and the guys who work there are simply fantastic, always smiling and ready to help everyone. The room are clean and perfect related to the price!... More

We spent 15 days in Nepal, shared between the regions of Khatmandu Bhaktapur and Pokhara where we spent several days in each place. Dolphin Guesthouse has allowed us to enjoy the bustling Thamel without its drawbacks. It is close to the center of Thamel for restaurants, shopping ... but the place is very quiet and very safe. For a very... More

Dolphin Guesthouse is a clean, comfortable, relaxing place to stay, located on a quiet side street in the north end of Thamel. It was a great place to make as our base in Kathmandu, and have somewhere nice to step back from the crowds and crazy traffic that careers down the local labyrinthine, narrow streets. Rooms are comfortable and clean,... More

Once you've been in Nepal a while you get used to adjusting your expectations. Accommodation that would get a scathing review if you found it in New Zealand or France can seem like luxury after a week in Himalayan trekking lodges. With that in mind... Our room was small, with simple furnishings. The bathroom best suited a contortionist, as you... More

This review is long overdue as we stayed here in May.... We really enjoyed staying in the Dolphin Guest House and it made our time in Kathmandu great! The owner was very helpful and gave us lots of very useful advice. Especially when he pointed out to reconfirm our flights! That saved us a lot of trouble.... The guesthouse is... More

My husband and I stayed in Dolphin Guest House for more than a week due to the closure of Tibet, but thanks for Mr Surendra (the owner) we had a great time! The room is excellent value for money, with a double bed and private bathroom. Since the beginning we were well taken care of by the owner who helped... More

I stayed here at the beginning and also end of my Trip to Nepal. I found the room (and rest) was clean, room lights worked (even with load shedding) and hot water available for shower during the day. The location was just a short few minutes walk from the main bar/shop area of Thamel so you escape the noise and... More

Located on a silent street in North Thamel. A great guesthouse with the nicest and most helpful host I've met on my trip to Nepal. I felt very welcome, safe and comfortable. Also I'd like to point out the cleanliness of this place. No wonder it has such a high ranking at tripadvisor.com Highly recommended! More

Located in north Thamel, Dolphin is easy to reach while avoids the most noise of central Thamel. Mr. Surenda Joshi and his family and staff are very friendly and hospitable. The whole building is clean and nice look; bedroom and bathroom inside are not very big, but clean and acceptalbe for me. I stayed in the north room which windows... More
