This lodge cancelled my reservation less than 36 hours before my arrival. I got their email while getting ready to board the plane to fly to Kathmandu. I don't know how they can expect us to rebook ourselves to another hotel in such short time. Come to find out that their original lodge in Chitwan will no longer be in... More

Our 3 days at Temple Tiger Lodge were an exciting journey!! Just to get there was an adventure---first on a small bus down a dirt road until it ended at the river, then transferring to a canoe to the other side of the river, then a bumpy ride through the jungle in a 40s style open jeep to the camp.... The elephant rides were wonderful. The walk was nice. The food was boring and often over cooked. The units were nice except that there was no hot water in our unit any of the three days we were there and it was quite cold. The tours seemed like we were being taken through the motions without any depth except for... More

Good news is the place is right inside the park and cheaper than the more famous Tiger Tops. However, the cabins are very much in need of refurbishment and neglected. Due to the low hanging clouds in the morning when we were there the whole place is damp and smells. Meals are ok but not great. Buffet style. Other than... More

Spent time there in late November 2011. The staff are outstanding and want one to have a wonderful viist. Great place for viewing many, beautiful birds, rhinoceroses, and of course the magnificent elephants carried us throughout the jungle. Ambika, a naturalist, knew his stuff and the info he shared was an enrichment. It was a respite from sensory overload in... More

I was in the Temple Tiger Jungle Lodge for November 2011. It is an amazing place with great animal sighting. I have been in most of the jungle Lodge in Chitwan but i loved the experience there. The Rhino can be seen right next to the jungle. We were lucky even to see a tiger which just crossed the road... More

As others have said temple tiger is located well within the park (canoe ride and jeep to get to it) and because of this the location is just brilliant for wildlife. For the three nights we stayed for we had a good time with great bird sightings, lots of rhinos, some other mammals/reptiles/insects. The naturalists at the camp varied greatly... More

The fact that this lodge is inside the park is a huge plus. Outside it would be just okay. However there have been rumors for about two years that a Maoist govt would remove all private lodges with in the park, so it is worth a visit while you can. I have been to Temple Tiger three times in the... More

My partner and I spent two nights at this Eco resort and had a wonderful time. We felt the isolation fairly early on when we were driven past a country town leading to a forest by the river. From there we were taken on a 30min canoe ride across the river followed by a 30 min bumpy jeep ride. We... More

Temple Tiger Lodge is located inside Chitwan National Park. The rooms are adequate and clean but don't expect luxurious. The best part of our stay was the elephant safaris. Unlike Parks in India, elephants are the primary transportation for game viewing. They can go where there are no roads, on the beach and through the forest. You should expect to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Temple Tiger is the only lodge inside the National Park of Chitwan from where you can witness the natural game of prey and predator, from the hanging platform itself. The viewing deck, constructed above a huge man-made swamp provides a fantastic display of animals visiting the swamp or on the land. Besides the view from your balcony, we also arrange jungle safaris on elephant back or by Land Rovers. Nature walks accompanied by well-trained naturalists are very popular among nature lovers. Canoeing on the Narayani River provides an opportunity to watch dolphins and gharial and mugger crocodiles from close quarters. ... more   less
