Checked into this hotel cause I thought it would be heritage and historic. It's just old - not even old charm quality though. Good views. But, I think the hotel needs a major upgrade asap.

I stayed here several years ago but was reminiscing about my travels and remember how wonderful this hotel experience was. I was in Taiwan on business and after a long day in a very chaotic, crowded city it was a welcome place to go "home" to. There was a wonderful quaint "tea" room in the hotel where you could order...

I was on a business conference and can only speak as a delegate. Our first room was too far away from the main building so we paid extra to ahe a front large room with massive balcony Well worth the extra. Minimal English spoken but concierge staff spoke good English

Hotel is old and outdated....$250 for 2 adult (twin size beds) 2 weeknite stay in Jan. Beautiful and spacious lobby...however when you get to the rooms...the hallways are wider than room itself!!! Room was tiny... 9'x6' Seems like they were more concerned about giving the appearance of being a "grand" hotel as opposed to being one. I thought it was...

The outside of the hotel is grand but the rooms are not. A friend and I chose this hotel because we thought it would be a "grand" experience, but it was average. The inside lobby is quite a sight, with lots of people taking photos but when it comes to the actual rooms, it is quite small. Apart from the...

Stayed at this hotel while with tour group. Local guide say this 5star hotel is abt 30 or 50yrs historical value and often host to overseas govt officials (evidence in the hallway pictures). The hotel lobby was very grand and impressive.
However, the rooms at the main building that my tour mates stayed are without windows and they complained about...

This hotel is an imposing building which is visible from far away-a unique design, like a Chinese palace. The lobby and public areas are impressive and opulent. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good, and not too pricey. There is a free shuttle bus which goes to the metro every 20-30 minutes. The bus from the airport...

I stayed in the Hotel in Feb 2011. Great property and service. When I entered the hotel in I was confused if by any chance the Limo driver took me to a museum in place of hotel. Later found that the hotel has a little bit of history attached to it, and they show the same in a guided tour....

We spent one night at the Grand hotel, at the insistance of some of our friends. It is a beautiful building, made in the style of a Chinese palace. The lobby is ornate and plush; nothing like the room we stayed in. We were led to our room through a series of hallways, stairwells and restaurants. The room was small,...

Be sure you ask for an"outside" room when you check into this historical hotel. It is so "grand" that it works like a cruise ship, giving you the option of an inside stateroom without any windows and with your bed placed next to a corridor with heavy traffic. It is no way to enjoy the Grand Hotel, always pay a...
