This is perfect place for the right kind of person going super cheap. For a family, I definitely wouldn't go any cheaper! Next time we stay in Bangkok, I will avoid this tourist trap area like the plague and stay somewhere a little bit nicer. It was recommended to us by someone we should have realized was a little grungier.... More

Not clean, dark & dingy, hottest room I've stayed in, the best part about the hotel is the restaurant bar. And it's only good for meeting people, stay somewhere else. Terrible staff, location right off koh San.

I just spent 4 nights in NJ's - and can't really complain about anything. It's a guesthouse where you get a room for less then USD 20 - and that's the benchmark I am judging it by. The room was relatively clean (new painting wouldn't hurt, but didn't offend me), there were no bugs in/under the beds and the A/C... More

Don't go for that guesthouse in Bangkok, there are some much better rooms for the same price. The room was in a completely decrepit state, moist on the walls, paint coming off. The ceiling is very low which gives the impression you are in a shoe box. The bathroom was tiny and dirty as was the room.

Stayed here in Oct 2012. Don't go for the pricier aircon rooms. These for some reason are at the Khosan Rd end. Nightclub blasting out music til about 4 in the morning so bad nights sleep. Glad to have left the place. That said, did return for the fantastic food in the garden restaurant.

After the initial adjustment period of a tiny shower and toilet combo (yes, spoiled westerner), no hot water and having to continuously ask for toilet paper and fresh towels, my wife and I really started to like this hostel. It has a a very nice garden restaurant, and the food is very good and reasonable. It is on the Khausan... More

When we are in Bangkok we always stay in New Joe's Guesthouse. To be fair the rooms do not have any flair and it is not the cleanest guesthouse for the price. It well is lowbudget and that what you get for it. BUT the kitchen is really great you get good coffee and european breakfast like dark bread!!! Also... More

Stayed here for a night with my girlfriend in March. In short we arrived in Bangkok very late with no reservations, and everything was fully booked, except for New Joe's, so we decided to stay the night. Here's why we wouldn't stay for one more: - Extremely hot, waking up several times at night in a pool of your own... More

I was happy with my room for the price, I would have stayed there again on my return to Bangkok, but I found the room difficult to find. I was a solo female traveler and I was careful to remember which way I walked when I left the guesthouse but still had to walk around for 30 minutes at 4am... More

Stayed here for a couple of days had a triple room on our first 2 days then transferred to twin room.. Twin room is much nicer than the tripple.. Cannot use wifi in your room u have to stay at the lobby to get a connection.. Maybe a style so you dont have to use your aircon if you want... More
