Stayed here for two nights and at only 450 baht a night there is little to complain about. Just expect what you pay for, there's nothing fancy about it but it's clean, has hot water and the aircon works.

This is a great place to stay if you are thinking of staying in Chiang Mai anywhere in between a month and three months. It is affordable, clean and in a great location right next to Tha Pae Gate and the staff will help you with any trip you want to organise. The showers have hot water, the room is... More

I enjoyed this place. Had a clean, bright feel to it. The rooms were good value although the prices went up slightly during popular times. Staff were friendly and efficient and sometimes made an extra effort to help, ie. when a cheaper room became available, they told me about it and switched the booking. Also gave advice and provided a... More

Nothing fancy !! Very surprised it is lonely planet recommended !! A lot of outside noise comes through rooms !! Dogs howling and nearby construction !! They only cleaned my room once in the 6 days I stayed here !!

There's nothing particularly special about Ban Wiang, but nothing wrong with it either. We paid for an aircon room, for 450B a night and were perfectly happy. It was a decent size and clean. We only needed it as a base for exploring Chiang Mai anyway and it's in the very handy Tha Pae gate area,

I recently stayed at Ban Wiang guesthouse for around 6 weeks whilst studying in Chiang Mai. I found the rooms to be simple but clean and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is very central, and as I was staying for so long I was able to pay a cheaper monthly rate which worked out to be... More

I have just come out of a Buddhist monastery so was looking for a quiet place to go thru a little transition period, and get ready for the next stage of my travels .II got the quiet part it seems, and the room is OK but no view, so it is a little bit prison like, but it has really... More

Cost 500 baht for a twin room here, very reasonably priced. In a fairly quiet location, but close enough to eateries and bars. Staff friendly and the woman on reception was very helpful getting us booked onto an elephant trekking trip, which we got a bit cheaper by telling some porkies. The rooms were clean, had a TV in, nice... More

We stayed here for two nights whilst on a three month backpacking tour. We paid 300baht for a double room which before entering the room was very happy with, however, once we had seen our room we were not. The room size wasn't a problem to me as it was big enough for what was required, however the bathroom absolutely... More

Stayed three nights in Chiang Mai: queen sized bed, fan only for 350baht a night. Rooms a not that big, bathroom is small but it is clean and has hot water shower. There is a tv in our room with only a few English channels( no HBO unfortunately ). A couple of really positives to our stay, the front desk... More
