I stayed in room 8 on the 2nd floor. The room was clean, AC worked, hot water worked, TV was small but worked. I paid 400 baht per night. Plumbing is little wonky, sink drains onto the bathroom floor, then goes down the drain. Breakfast was 75 baht for 2 eggs, nice bacon, potatoes, toast, butter and jam. Service was... More

I'll preface my review by saying that Buddy, the current owner mentioned in most of the glowing reviews, has sold the Dixie Pig and is moving onto other things. That said, I'm sure the new owner (who we met and who seems friendly) will want to maintain the hostel's existing goodwill and reputation, so I'd still recommend checking out the... More

My husband emailed the owner and booked a room for 1 night in November and he confirmed our booking. When we arrived around 10 pm after the taxi driver looking for the place a long time, we found the place closed and in totally darkness We were finally able to talk with a lady cross the street, who told us... I stayed in Dixie Pig for about a week in January 2012 and had a really pleasant experience. Buddy and Ann warmly welcomed me, gave a lot of useful advices and information about the area and Thai culture and showed me around. I had a really good time in Chiang Mai, thanks to them. The rooms are big and very... More

I met with Buddy as I was wandering through the alleys of Chiang Mai. He was so great, providing info about the surroundings, the do's and don't, and most of all, Thai culture from Western eyes. Although we did not stay at his guesthouse, this meeting made such a difference for this first trip in Thailand. If you are around... More

Didnt stay there but stopped by to do some laundry and have a bite to eat. Coffee is excellent, the best I've tasted in a long time. Homemade food is brilliant. I had a green curry which was perfect and my husband had the homemade sausage which he said was delicious. They did beans on toast for the kids, which... More

I stayed here for a week or so in March 2012 and I feel you get great value for money. The guesthouse is located in a nice and pretty quiet area and still close to everything. The rooms are good and very clean, there is hot water, international TV, fast WiFi and if you need anything else you just ask... More

I don't think I could have found a much better place for 350-400 baht. Great food to a very low price. If you want to order some food, which is not on the menu card, the host try to find out something. The rooms are fine with bathroom and tv. (the short version)
