It's outdated, bathroom dirty, no hot water one night, WiFi very spotty and most of the time non-existent, bed as hard as a rock, 2 inch gap under the door so all the light and noise from the hallway comes into the room, poor customer service at front desk, no answer when calling housekeeping. If I hadn't been in a tour group I would have moved to a different hotel and cut my losses. The only reason I didn't give one star is the location is good, and I have stayed in one worse hotel in the past.

Stayed for 6 nights in January 20. Excellent location as near the night market but in a quiet area. Lovely lobby, good size room and bathroom, comfortable bed, spacious pool area and and reasonable gym. Breakfast was ok and there’s a lovely garden area to access for sitting outside as the restaurant itself is not bright and airy. Staff generally all right. Poor WiFi in the bedroom but slightly better in the lobby. Overall satisfied with our stay. Would stay again and recommend.

The hotel is old and aged. The bed is dirty with stains like blood (in pictures) and pillow is bad, we complain to the staff and they told us that every room is the same. We spotted rats at the hotel lobby. The water pressure in the bathroom is horrible. You won't get good sleep and good shower at all. There's also noise disturbance from the nearby pubs, bars and night bazaar. The only good thing about this hotel is location. I advise those who want to stay at this hotel think twice.

This hotel is enormous but needs updating. The public areas are vast, the staff are friendly, breakfast is good but if you need internet, the only place it is reasonably available is in the entrance lobby and very unstable or even impossible to log-in in the bedrooms, shameful in 2020 especially as wi-fi is available and reliable in every other establishment

We have stayed here before, this time Chiang Mai was much quieter, that is a good thing. This hotel has a great central location a couple of minutes from the night bazaars, shopping centres and restaurants. It is easy to park a car here. The breakfast was much improved from previous visits.

Just checking out having been in Chiang Mai for 5 days it would be very difficult to fault the hotel in any way. If I were not travelling on to Chiang Rai then onwards to U.K. if I ever return to Thailand , I will certainly return to the Plaza.

Just checked in and I am surprised they allowed us to check into this room. Dead bugs on the floor, chairs so soiled, you cannot sit in them. It is disappointing and unclean. Would never recommend this to anyone.

The bellboy snapped the handle off my suitcase when we were checking out. He tried to tape it back on with sellotape and then used superglue when I informed him this would not work which stuck the whole handle out of the bag like I said it would!! Caused me a right nightmare trying to check luggage in at airport. I was told the manager wasn’t around at the time so to write all my details down and await reply, which I did and still await response as to what they will do about this 1 week later... case unusable and complete lack of care... would have let me walk out without an apology.

I've stayed at the CM Plaza hotel multiple times, so know what I'm getting into when i book. Here are my pros and cons from my latest stay over Songkran. Pro: Huge rooms with extra large beds. The beds are on the harder side of things, but i prefer that so its a pro for me. The cost to stay at the Plaza had always been for me very affordable for what the hotel offers by way of facilities. It has a gym with quiet a few machines, a nice sized (and clean) pool, a relaxed atmosphere bar in the lobby Ect ect. The room cleaners always had a big smile and did a great job each morning making beds and restocking bathroom with towels and accessories. The pool was great to relax in after a big day, with the teardrop capsules alongside the pool been perfect to relax in and watch the going ons around the pool area. Location is perfect for me, as its a 3 min walk to the night bazaar markets, 5 min walk to riverside and only a 10 or so min walk to the old city. No fuss no nonsense hotel, you get what you pay for no more no less. Cons: The rooms really could do with a refurbishment. The carpets are tatty, the bathrooms are tired with several items either broken or not working 100%. This stay round, it seemed the hotel was lacking workers, with no concierge when first arriving (or at all for my whole stay) which means taking luggage from taxi and up the flight of stairs at the lobby entrance. No doorman at all this stay either as I've previously experienced. Security at entrance been completely ambivalent about anything around them happening. Furniture in rooms really needs either a massive clean or simply replaced. The chairs although comfortable, are badly stained with who knows what, so required a towel to be placed on before sitting on. Windows in desperate need of a clean. Was extremely grotty in the room i had, and for me to see out of properly i had to reach out and clean as best myself to get a half decent view. This negative is petty, but after staying in this hotel at least three times a year (each time around 4 to 5 nights) for close to ten years, I'm still not recognised as a repeat customer other then from the room maid. When i put a room request in whilst booking (i generally like a high floor, big bed overlooking the pool), it's 50/50 if i get it, with my wife and I half the time been put into a room with 2 singles. This is after booking months in advance and then calling to reconfirm our preferences. Like I've stated, I've stayed many times now in the plaza, and for me the cost benifits out weigh the negatives, but there will come a time when it doesnt (and for many traveling it already does).
