There is a reason why this hotel is cheap-it's full of huge cockroaches. I've seen 2 huge dead ones when checking out the rooms and live ones in one of the washrooms on the main floor. The rooms are okay but a bit dated. The pool is beautiful and the food is okay. We only stayed for one night and... More

I've tried a number of different hotels in Chiang Mai, as I live in Thailand, this is one of the best. Very easy to find, close to the attractions, shops and markets, but not on top of them, and has car parking. Really nice comfortable and clean rooms, lovely swimming pool, nice restaurant with great food and every member of... More

The decor in our room reminded me of my grandmother's house - dark, huge curtains, lots of flower carvings, and a rotary phone. Once I got over the decor, this was a perfectly fine place to stay. Wifi worked really well, bathroom was nice, and the restaurant downstairs was better than expected.

Good laid-back atmosphere. Helpful staff arranged everything I asked for. Wi-fi internet service was completely reliable, and fast--better than I got in a 4-star in Bangkok. Rooms have seen better days, and are a bit dark, but clean and acceptable. Beautiful courtyard (see picture below) and pool. A good deal for the price.

probably not the perfect place to chill out in chiang mai , rooms are small and old but we had a nice stay for a couple of day , the swimming pool is nice and the staff friendly . not far from the main places to visit in town and the night bazar . not bad .

Unfortunatelly we arrived late to Chiang Mai, and didn't find any other free hotel, so we had no other choice, but stay. They offer standard double room for 790 Baht, which is really substandard and really not worth the price. We took double room for 890 Baht, which was ok, had really nice bathroom, TV, fridge, wifi, A/C, BUT you... More

It was high season & I was struggling to find anything in town with a pool. Sadly for me Lai Thai had vacancies! Small, dark room. Poor bathroom, with at certain times of the day no hot water. Wifi never seemed to work in room. My room would have looked out at the pool (I was on ground level), but... More

Modest hotel but within walking distance of everything you want to see in the centre of town. Rooms were small but tidy but the greatest advantage is the swimming pool. Fore those who complain about the noise, well, you are staying in a city! At the desk they can book almost everything ( we bought are tickets for the nighttrain... More

We booked via Agoda so we did not see the room before. If we did we should not have stayed. The only pro's are the swimmingpool and the old city nearby. The room we had was small, filthy and depressing. WIFI did not work at all in the room and even the towels looked as they were used for ages.... More

it used to be a cheap and nice place and the first hotel i stayed in when i backpacked Thailand 8 years ago. However, it is not as good as i remember it was. Although the price was not to bad , rooms were small, noisy with the road next door, very little place for us and the kids. Service... More
